Objective: 

Course Objectives :

  • To familiarize students with the theoretical standpoints in therapeutic intervention.
  • To train them in skills of therapy.

  • CO117: Develop a basic understanding of counselling as a profession
  • CO118: Gain an overview of basic approaches, theories and techniques in counselling
  • CO119: Develop awareness about the contemporary issues and challenges in counselling Learn about the Indian forms of therapy.

 Freud’s drive theory, object-relations psychology, self-psychology, psychoanalytical approaches to treatment, brief psychoanalytic therapy

Jungian analysis and therapy- theory of personality, analysis and therapy ;  Adlerian therapy: theory of personality, theory of therapy and counseling

Development of  Psychodynamic Theories, Transactional Analysis , Brief Psychodynamic Therapy, Psychodrama

Person-Centered theory of personality and psychotherapy; Existential theory of personality and psychotherapy, logotherapy
