Objective: 

This course will enable students to develop a comprehensive research proposal in psychology, demonstrating their ability to identify research questions, review relevant literature, design appropriate methodologies, and present their proposed research in a structured and coherent manner.

CO151: Develop skills in conducting a comprehensive literature review to identify and analyze existing research and identify research gaps.

CO152: Assess techniques for identifying and defining variables relevant to the research

CO153:Explore the process of determining an appropriate sample size and sampling method based on the research objectives and population characteristics

CO154: Develop the ability to formulate clear and concise research objectives and hypotheses that align with the research problem

CO155:Foster critical thinking skills to evaluate the relevance and significance of the research objectives, and hypotheses in the context of the research synopsis presentation

CO156: Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction

Students are required to:

  • Determine relevant variables for a testable research proposal.
  • Conduct a literature review identifying the research gaps and rationale of the study.
  • Define the sample size and inclusion-exclusion criteria, formulate research objectives, andhypotheses.
  • Develop an appropriate research design and identify the relevant analysis technique for the same.
