Objective: 

To familiarize students with the therapeutic intervention and train them in skills of therapy.

Introduction to Psychological Treatment :

 Concept, definition, nature and scope of psychotherapies and counselling, goals and effectiveness of psychotherapies and counselling.

Unit II: 
Individual Therapy :

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy; client centered therapy, cognitive therapy; logo therapy, gestalt therapy.

Unit III: 
Group Therapy :

Group psychotherapy, psychodrama and Transactional analysis.

Unit IV: 
Behavior Modification Techniques :

 Systematic desensitization, Flooding and Implosive therapy, contingency management, Token economy, Aversion, Modelling.

Unit V: 
Cross Cultural Therapies:

 Zen, Buddhism and indigenous system in India : use of yoga, meditation, hypnosis, bio-feed back and autogenic training.
