The Department of Psychology organized a guest lecture on Suicide Prevention on the occasion of World Mental health day by Dr. Manasvi Gautam on 10 October 2019, in the A.V. Hall.

 

He commenced with discussing what suicide actually is, how can one identify people who are more prone to suicidal behaviour. He also made everyone aware about stereotypes related to suicide. He emphasised on the role of social media in preventing it and also how society can contribute in decreasing the suicide rates. Symptoms were also briefed. Also,several do's and don'ts and different steps to be taken to help assist a person in problem were also told. 

Overall the session was very informative,educative an insightful session.
